To Cook: Peas do not require soaking. In a large pot, add 6 to 8 cups of hot water for every pound (about 2 cups) of peas. Simmer gently with lid tilted until desired tenderness is reached, about 20 to 30 minutes.
Despite the use of the most modern cleaning equipment available, peas are a natural agricultural product and may contain foreign material. Sorting and rinsing peas before cooking is recommended.
